Sometime around the mid-1970s I started with a used 35mm camera shooting patterns and objects, natural and man-made. Art and travel were my interests and photography just seemed to fit both perfectly.

For years I used only Kodachrome slide film, which had no margin for exposure error. I didn’t use zoom lenses, autofocus or programmed exposure mode. Equipment was fairly heavy, so I kept it to a minimum. I got pretty fast with my pared-down gear. Losing one good shot is a great incentive to stay ready for the next good shot.

As a graphic designer I was sometimes able to use my photography to enhance my concepts and layouts. My work has been published and shown in galleries. I have also been represented by Index Stock International, a stock photo agency.

My personal style comes down to the desire to make artistic images in a world rich with color. Occasionally I make black and white images, because hey, I’m always learning.

I’m sure you are, too.

Thanks for your interest.
